Baptism
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.“

Baptism
Baptism is a joyful celebration of new life in Christ and the first step in a lifelong journey of faith. At St. Leander’s, we are honored to walk with families as they prepare to welcome their child into the Catholic Church.
If you are a registered parishioner and would like to have your infant or young child baptized, we offer Baptismal Preparation Classes to help you understand the meaning of the sacrament and your role in nurturing your child’s faith.
🕊️ Planning Your Child’s Baptism
Please contact the Parish Office at (510) 895-5631 at least one month in advance of your desired baptism date. This is especially important for families in the Spanish-speaking community, as preparation and scheduling may vary.
We look forward to celebrating this sacred moment with you and your family!
