How do I offer a mass intention?

Mass intentions may only be made in person at the Parish Office on Wednesdays – Fridays.

Who are given dispensation from attending masses in-person?

The faithful are encouraged to return to participating in the Sunday Mass if their health permits. Bishop Barber will soon be issuing a Pastoral Letter on the beauty and centrality of the Eucharist in our lives. The lifting of the dispensation from the Sunday Mass Obligation will come into force on Sunday, August 15th, the Solemnity of the Assumption. The usual dispensations allowed by canon law will be explained in the bishop’s letter. See Message from Bishop Barber concerning June 15th COVID-19

If I cannot attend mass in person, how can I give my donation?

You may send your donation through any of the following methods:
1. by dropping at the Parish Office
2. online at https://oakdiocese.org/parish-support
3. by mailing a check made payable to :

St. Leander Church
474 W. Estudillo Avenue
San Leandro, CA 94577.

Is the church open to pray?

Due to the pandemic, the church is open only for in-person masses in limited capacity.

Faith Formation

Are you accepting registration for children’s religious education (CCD), first communion or confirmation?

English and Spanish First Communion Registrations for registered families in St. Leander Church, limited to 50 children begin Tuesday, June 15 through Tuesday June 29 at the parish office during office hours. Please bring baptismal certificate to turn in with the application. The fee is $100 per child.

The 2021-2022 Confirmation Program for Freshman to Seniors is offered in English only. Registrations will be from Monday, August 23 to Monday, September 6 in the parish office. Limited space to 50 candidates, priority will be given to registered families at St. Leander Church. Please bring the Baptism and First Communion Certificates when you come to register your son/daughter along with the fee of $100.

Las inscripciones para la Primera Comunión en inglés y español para las familias registradas en la Iglesia St. Leander, limitadas a 50 niños, comienzan el martes 15 de junio hasta el martes 29 de junio en la oficina parroquial durante el horario de oficina. Por favor traiga el certificado de bautismo para entregarlo junto con la solicitud. La tarifa es de $100 por niño.

El Programa de confirmación 2021-2022 para alumnos del primer año al cuarto año de la secundaria (freshmen to seniors) se ofrece solo en inglés. Las inscripciones serán desde el lunes 23 de agosto hasta el lunes 6 de septiembre en la oficina parroquial. Espacio limitado para 50 candidatos, se dará prioridad a las familias registradas en la Iglesia St. Leander. Por favor traiga los Certificados de Bautismo y Primera Comunión cuando venga a registrar a su hijo/a junto con la tarifa de $100.
