Religious Education (CCD)
About the Program
Our Religious Education/Catholic Christian Doctrine (CCD) provides religious education to school aged children in our parish. We are focused on preparing the students to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. CCD classes teach the basic doctrines of the Catholic faith. The goal of the program is to help the children collaborate with their parents to become Catholics who know and love Jesus.
Sacrament preparation classes are held on Sundays from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. in English and on Friday night in Spanish. Classes run from late September through May of each school year with major holidays off.

Volunteering Opportunities in Religious Education
Do you feel that you are being called to teach our faith to the children in our parish? Or would you like to help introduce an adult to our faith? If you would like to work as a Catechist—or as a volunteer along with the Catechists—who share their faith with the children on a weekly basis while they prepare for the Sacraments, call the Parish Office at (510) 895-5631 and leave a message with your name and number for Rebecca Martinez, Religious Ed Coordinator or email her at rmartinez@csdo.org.
