Religious Education (CCD)

About the Program

Our Religious Education/Catholic Christian Doctrine (CCD) Program provides the parents of our parish with a partnership in the faith formation of our children.

Sacrament preparation classes are held on Sundays from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. from late September through May of each school year with holidays off at Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Presidents’ Day.

A copy of each student’s Baptismal Certificate must be on file. Submit a completed Catechetical Program Registration Form to register.

Volunteering Opportunities in Religious Education

Do you feel that you are being called to teach our faith to the children in our parish? If you would like to work as a Catechist—or as a volunteer along with the Catechists—who share their faith with the children on a weekly basis while they prepare for the Sacraments, call the Parish Office at (510) 895-5631 and leave a message with your name and number for Anita Marquez, Catechetics Coordinator, email her at, or just show up on a Sunday morning and Anita will find a place for you.

Students in middle or high school who need hours to complete their requirements are encouraged to use this opportunity.
